NOTE: Please follow the exact procedures below to uninstall / reinstall the Genie. The procedures and screen shots below are using Genie 2.0 on a Vista machine. Although the graphics may look a little different, these procedures will work on Windows XP machines. |
Step 1 - Open Up Your Task Manager & End MNUMSG.EXE Process
Open Up Your Task Manager
To open up your task manager, hold down the following keys on your keyboard: Ctrl - Shift - Esc
Click On Processes Tab ... Click On mnumsg.exe So It Is Highlighted ... Click On End Process Button
NOTE: mnumsg.exe is the MyShoppingGenie software application that is running on your computer.
If the mnumsg.exe file is not present in the list of processes ... then proceed to your control panel and remove MyShoppingGenie from the Add and Remove Programs list.
If the mnumsg.exe file is present ... please click on it so it is highlighted ... click on the end process button ... then click on end process button again.
Once the mnumsg.exe file is no longer running ... then you can proceed to your control panel and remove MyShoppingGenie from the Add and Remove Programs list. |
Step 2 - Uninstall MyShoppingGenie From The Control Panel
To open the control panel ... click START ... SETTINGS ... CONTROL PANEL ... UNINSTALL A PROGRAM.
Highlight MyShoppingGenie and then click Uninstall.
NOTE: If you see MyShoppingGenie listed multiple times in the control panel, please select the last one listed (which should be the latest one installed. Once you uninstall it ... the other two instances of MyShoppingGenie may still be listed ... however ... the application is no longer on the machine.
Step 3 - Click Next & Follow The Wizard To Uninstall The Genie
Step 4 - Visit Your Enroller's MyShoppingGenie Web site & Reinstall The Genie
1. Go to your enroller’s MyShoppingGenie Web site
2. Select Get Your Free Genie Now & Install Free Genie Now
3. Follow instructions to install the Genie
4. When finished, do a search for any item in Google or major search engine
5. Your Genie will appear at the bottom of your browser
