General Questions

How do I become a Distributor of MyShoppingGenie?

You must have a “sponsor” that will enroll you as a new member. Contact the person who introduced you to the Genie or sign up by going to their MyShoppingGenie Web site. There is a one-time fee of $199 for MSG Distribution License, which provides you with three Web sites, including a FREE marketing system, many other sales tools and the ability to distribute an unlimited number of Genies to everyone you know.

What is the $29 Monthly Subscription and why is it important to my business?

The $29 Monthly Subscription begins one month after the purchase of your MSG Distribution License and will be charged to your account on the same date each month after that. You must set up your Monthly Subscription in your online office using either Visa, Mastercard, or your checking account.

The Monthly Subscription allows Distributors to remain in “active status” and allows them to give away an unlimited number of Genies and be eligible for all commissions and bonuses earned.

What happens if I cancel my Monthly Subscription and become Inactive?

An Inactive Distributor may still sell the MSG Distribution License, but is not eligible to give away free Genies or earn commissions through any of the select affiliate programs. In addition, any sales credits you accumulate in your left and right teams will be lost once you are confirmed as inactive.

How about zero, nada, nothing…there is no annual renewal fee for your Distribution License. Simply set up and maintain the Monthly Subscription and you are good for life!

Make sure and monitor both your Left and Right teams as you build your business. In order to maximize your commissions, you must manage your business on a regular basis to build an effective organization. Where do I send my ads for corporate approval?

All types of promotion and advertising of MyNet Universe, MyShoppingGenie and the new Genie 2.0 must receive prior written permission from the MyNet Universe corporate office.  This includes but is not limited to business cards, flyers, press releases and both print and electronic advertising.
 
You can fax or email your proposed ideas, ads or electronic files to the MyNet Universe corporate office in Dallas for approval. Please include your name, Member ID #, email address and phone number in all correspondence.  Refer to the company's Policy & Procedures (Section 10 - Advertising) for further information.

When forwarding / redirecting your new domain to your MyShoppingGenie URL, please redirect your new domain name from www.myshoppinggenie.com/username to http://www.myshoppinggenie.com/memberservice/r.asp?r=username and do not add the domain name masking feature.

How is it determined where my new Distributors are placed in my two-team organization?

The new placement feature located in your online office allows you to automatically designate where you place your new Distributors. Login to your online office at https://www.cs4000.net/MyNetUniverse/member/mem_login.asp, select Maintenance and then choose Update Advanced Placement.

You have several options.

  1. Auto (which will place your new personally enrolled Distributors on the outer side of the “weak” leg (the leg with lesser sales) of your organization.

  2. Left or Right Leg

  3. Under a specific Distributor in your organization (you remain the sponsor).

    Note that this setting will remain in place until you change it, so make sure you manage this part of your business carefully. Once placed, Distributors can be moved only in emergency situations approved by Management.

Placement Instructions:

A. To place all new personal enrollments automatically on the outer side of the “weak” leg (the leg with lesser sales) of your organization, do the following:

  1. Enter YOUR five-digit Member ID in the Placement ID field.

  2. Select the Auto option.

  3. Click Submit.

B. To place all new personal enrollments in your Left or Right leg, do the following:

  1. Enter YOUR five-digit Member ID in the Placement ID field.

  2. Select the Left or Right option.

  3. Click Submit.

C. To place all new personal enrollments specifically under a Distributor in your organization, do the following:

  1. Enter the five-digit Member ID of the person you wish to place sales beneath.

  2. Select the Left, Right or Auto option.

  3. Click Submit.

Is there a way I can choose a specific open position in my organization to place a new Distributor?

Yes, you may choose ANY spot in your organization that is labeled OPEN directly beneath a Distributor. Login to your online office at https://www.cs4000.net/MyNetUniverse/member/mem_login.asp, click on Genealogy and then select Tree View (Graphical). Click on the OPEN spot and then fill out the enrollment form designated for that particular position. Your new Distributor will be placed in the spot that you chose.

TIP: In order to view your two teams, click on any of the graphical people designating a Distributor to move down one level. Or you can click on one of the two buttons listed Bottom Left and Bottom Right to get to the bottom of your respective teams.

Click Back to return to the previous position you were viewing or click Back to Me to return to your position at the top of your two teams.

How do I upgrade MyShoppingGenie?

UPGRADING FROM GENIE

To manually upgrade your Genie ... please follow the instructions below. These instructions will guide you through the process of uninstalling your current Genie and installing the latest Genie.

1. Do a search for any item in Google or any major search engine and your Genie will appear

Note: If your Genie is not appearing ... then please click here for instructions on how to uninstall the Genie using the task manager ... then the control panel.

If your Genie does appear after conducting a search on a major search engine ... then proceed to step 2.

2. Click on the double arrows on the Genie to open up the menu



3. Select Uninstall and follow the online instructions

4. Click yes to confirm uninstall



5. In the control panel ... highlight MyShoppingGenie and then click uninstall

NOTE: If you see MyShoppingGenie listed multiple times in the control panel, please select the last one listed (which should be the latest one installed. Once you uninstall it ... the other two instances of MyShoppingGenie may still be listed ... however ... the application is no longer on the machine.

6. Click next and follow the wizard to uninstall the Genie and then finished

7. Go to your enroller’s MyShoppingGenie Web site ... select Get Your Free Genie Now and Install Free Genie Now

8. When finished, do a search for any item in Google or any major search engine

9. Your Genie will appear at the bottom of your browser

What do I need to do in order to start giving away free Genies?

YOU MUST ACTIVATE YOUR GENIE PRIOR TO GIVING AWAY FREE GENIES

In order to activate the Genie so that you may begin giving away free Genies, you must complete the following:

1. Go to your MyShoppingGenie Online Office
2. Select Maintenance
3. Select Activate Your Genie
4. Click on the Activate Button

That’s it! You are now ready to begin giving away your free Genies by sending people to your MyShoppingGenie Web site.

Using MyShoppingGenie

How do I change the city and state in Google Maps (Businesses) so it will show businesses in my local area?

Click on the double arrows on the Genie bar to open the menu and then select "Options".

Type in your city and state and click "Ok".

IMPORTANT TIP: Use the upper case two letter postal code for your state (i.e. TX for Texas, MO for Missouri, etc.). You can change this feature at anytime to search for different locations in which you are interested.

How do I search all of the sites at once?

In order to search all of the sites at once, you must bring up your g.it (hold down the "Ctrl" and "G" keys on your keybord ... or click on the Genie image).

Type in your desired seach term(s). Check the "All Sites" box. Click the search button.

Note: The all sites search feature includes Amazon, eBay, Overstock, Walmart, TigerDirect & Compare. It does include Underground Bargains. Also, if you want to search the local businesses, then you will type in your desired search term(s) and then press the "Search Businesses" link at the bottom of the g.it window.

Troubleshooting MyShoppingGenie

When I do a search, the Genie is not appearing. How can I get the Genie to appear?

Follow these steps:

  1. Make sure you are running Windows XP or Vista ... using the latest versions of Internet Explorer or Firefox and that you are using a minimum of 1024 by 768 screen resolution.

  2. Use the Genie only on major search engines such as Google, Yahoo, Live.com, or Ask.com. The Genie will only appear on major search engines search results pages.

  3. Restart / refresh your Genie: Click on START / PROGRAMS / MYNET UNIVERSE, INC. / G.IT.

  4. Click the control key "Ctrl" and then the "G" key on your keyboard and the Genie appears instantly on your screen.

Here are some additional steps you can take if the above steps did not solve your problem:

  1. Right click on the task bar ... select Task Manager ... then select the Processes tab.
    Look for mnumsg.exe in the list.
    If it is there ... Right Click on it to highlight it and select End Process from the menu that appears.

  2. Open Internet Explorer

    In the menu bar of your browser click Tools.
    Under the General tab click Delete.
    Click Temporary Internet Files.
    Go to your browser address bar and type in windowsupdate.com and click enter to navigate to the site.
    Follow the prompts on the site to allow Microsoft to check for any updates your computer might require.
    If updates are needed allow Microsoft to install the updates.
    After the updates are installed ... click your Window start button located in the lower left of your screen.

  3. Select Programs or All Program depending upon your version of windows.

    Select Accessories from the list.
    Under Accessories select System Tools.
    Under System Tools select Disk Defragmenter or Defragment hard drives depending upon your version of Windows.
    In the defragmenter window select the options to defragment all your hard drives.
    (further instructions on how to defragment your hard drive and remove Temporary Internet Files can be found by going to www.Google.com and searching for How do I delete temporary Internet files ... How do I defragment my hard drive.  Many examples with pictures are available across the Internet and can be found on Google.

  4. After the defragmenting process is complete visit http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php and download and run the TCPoptimizer from SpeedGuide.net.

    Running the Optimizer is easy. Step 1. Check the Optimal Settings button. Step 2. Click Ok.   Step 3. Reboot your computer for the settings to take effect.

    The TCPoptimizer is free from SpeedGuide.net. Essentially it fine tunes your Internet connection and in some case can speed up your Internet connection by 200% or more.

    If you have questions about the TCPoptimzer visit http://www.speedguide.net/faq_in.php?category=100 before installing.

  5. Once you have accomplished the above steps return to your sponsors site and download the Genie again.

I followed all of the steps above but my Genie is still not appearing. What should I do?

No. Only browsers that are distributed directly by Microsoft and Firefox will work with the Genie. If you have a browser distributed by Yahoo or AT&T, just download the latest browser directly from Microsoft at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/ie/getitnow.mspx or download the latest browser directly from Firefox at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/.
